The Cleburne Birthing Center is
located in the heart of Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas – serving families all
around the north Texas metroplex. Our goal is to give families an alternative to
hospital birth. The birth center is designed to give a private, safe, family
centered location where women can give birth comfortably. The home-like setting
includes a full kitchen, 2 birthing suites, a heated tub for waterbirths and a
courtyard for families and laboring moms to take advantage of the great Texas
weather. The center provides full prenatal, birth and post partum care and also
offers gynecological (GYN) and family planning care thru menopause. A full range
of massage services are available from our on site massage therapist.
Here at the Cleburne Birthing Center we believe birth is a natural process that
should be family centered. Our focus is to allow the birthing family to feel at
home and relaxed while birthing their baby. Birthing at a birth center differs
from hospital birth in that the mom is allowed to move around in labor, use the
tub or a shower whenever she wants, and be assured that interventions are done
for safety reasons and not for convenience of the staff. Mom and baby are
monitored throughout the process with minimal interruptions. The parents to be
can also be allowed to invite anyone to the birth they choose. Families are
allowed to cook and eat their own food as they desire and siblings are a welcome
presence.
The Cleburne Birthing Center
focuses on pregnancy and birth as a normal, healthy event. We believe each woman
has the right to safe care that fits her unique lifestyle. We are sensitive to
and respectful of cultural, social, spiritual, and traditional practices. We
work toward strengthening a woman's trust in her body and building her
confidence about pregnancy and birth, allowing her to step into parenthood with
greater assurance. Prenatal visits are usually about 45 minutes to an hour long
and cover all areas of life can affect a pregnancy. Our holistic approach
includes the physical aspects of pregnancy but the emotional as well. Family
members are welcome to join mom during her visits and are encouraged to ask
questions.
Cleburne Birth Center offers both licensed and certified midwives. Generally,
two midwives will share the care throughout the pregnancy, labor, and birth and
after the birth for six weeks. They also offer education, massage, ultrasounds,
laboratory tests and consultation and referral if necessary.
If medical problems develop during pregnancy, labor, and birth or after,
midwives work closely with physicians to ensure continuity and proper care.
Occasionally, only a consultation is needed to make sure mom and baby are
healthy enough to still continue with an out of hospital delivery.
Come in for a tour and our
friendly staff will be more then happy to answer all your questions. |
